Il più antico albero del Belgio, una quercia del Limburgo, si trova nel dominio privato del castello di Hex. La quercia 'Charles-Henry' dovrebbe avere tra gli 800 e i 900 anni.
Cinquanta anni fa, il padre del conte d'Ursel di Hex trovò dei bottoni di abbigliamento all'interno dell'albero. Dopo un'indagine, si scoprì che i bottoni appartenevano a un 'sansculotte', un soldato più povero della Rivoluzione francese. Probabilmente l'uomo disertò e pensò di nascondere i suoi vestiti nell'albero.
La maggior parte delle persone pensa che la cosiddetta 'quercia millenaria' di Lummen sia la più antica, ma si tratta di un malinteso. Quell'albero ha anch'esso qualche anno, ma è appena la metà dell'età di 'Charles-Henry'.
