Qui vediamo una delle pozzette scavate appositamente come biotopo per il raro salamandra di fuoco. Il Boschetto di Buggenhout è il limite settentrionale di questo tipo di salamandra in Belgio. La salamandra di fuoco è senza dubbio una delle nostre anfibie più belle ed è facilmente riconoscibile per la sua coda tozza e il motivo giallo e nero su tutto il corpo. Si trova molto bene nel Boschetto di Buggenhout grazie all'acqua pura del Hollebeek. Ma poiché questa salamandra terrestre si nasconde di giorno in cavità e sotto ceppi, non è sempre possibile vederla. Nelle vicinanze si trova la Eendenput, una pozza forestale che è un vero paradiso per le nutrie, le rane, i rospi e molte specie di uccelli. Qui puoi riposarti su una panchina e chissà, magari riesci a scorgere un'kingfisher.
