Kapellen è un luogo e una frazione di Glabbeek nella provincia di Brabante Fiammingo. Kapellen era un comune autonomo fino alla riorganizzazione comunale del 1977. Sotto l'ancien régime, Kapellen era un feudo autonomo. Giuridicamente faceva parte della signoria di Halen, nel quartiere di Leuven del ducato di Brabante. Dopo l'invasione francese, Kapellen fu assegnato come comune al cantone di Glabbeek del dipartimento del Dyle. Questo dipartimento, dopo che i francesi furono cacciati, fu trasformato nella provincia di Brabante Meridionale, la futura provincia belga del Brabante.
