Dal 1988 al 1993 Schaffen ha avuto un famoso preside per una delle sue scuole. Anzi, famoso lo sarebbe sicuramente diventato in seguito. Era Michel Wuyts. Wuyts è soprattutto conosciuto come commentatore di ciclismo alla VRT. Si occupa tra l'altro del Tour de France, del campionato del mondo e della maggior parte delle classiche, di solito insieme a José De Cauwer, a volte con Karl Vannieuwkerke. Nel ciclocross di solito commenta insieme all'ex campione del mondo Paul Herygers.
