Le comunità di Baardegem, Meldert, Moorsel e Herdersem formano insieme la regione chiamata "Faluintjes". Questo nome deriva dalla zona naturale omonima, che si estende dall'abbazia di Affligem fino a Moorsel. L'ultimo fine settimana di luglio, le comunità dei Faluintjes organizzano a turno la festa del raccolto "De Pikkeling". Questa festa popolare attira ogni anno migliaia di visitatori e li fa scoprire un folclore locale e straniero, dimostrazioni di mietitrebbie e antichi rituali di raccolta, musica tradizionale e gastronomia locale.
