Pedaliamo lungo il letto originario della Lieve. Questo canale è un paradiso per i pesci predatori, in particolare per i lucci, e di conseguenza anche per le airone. Non è un caso che il vicino villaggio di Vinderhoute abbia l'airone nel suo stendardo. Pedaliamo lungo la via di transito lungo la quale le barghe cariche di merci venivano trainate verso l'interno da uomini o cavalli fino all'inizio del XX secolo.
