La robusta torre con la cuspide è visibile da lontano. La prima chiesa risale al 1225. Quando nel XIV secolo la popolazione cresce rapidamente, viene costruita l'attuale chiesa a navata centrale. Nel XVIII secolo, Damme, impoverita, non può più permettersi le riparazioni della fatiscente chiesa di Nostra Signora. Fu demolita una parte della navata, il transetto e la cuspide della torre (1725-1727). L'arcata a tutto sesto della navata centrale è stata preservata come supporto per la torre.
Dalla torre alta 43 metri si gode di un panorama unico. La chiesa e la torre sono entrambe visitabili.
