A Oud-Rekem, proclamato il Più Bello Villaggio delle Fiandre, puoi trovare in Groenplaats la chiesa museo di San Pietro. Questa fu costruita nel 1704 in sostituzione della cappella del castello nel dominio del conte Ernesto d'Aspremont-Lynden. A causa di conflitti tra l'autorità spirituale e quella temporale, la chiesa fu completata solo nel 1723.
Nel 1755 la chiesa andò a fuoco e fu ricostruita solo a partire dal 1774. La chiesa rimase in uso fino al 1956, quando fu costruita una chiesa più grande a Kleinveld. La chiesa di San Pietro è protetta come monumento dal 1969. Dal 1970 è diventata chiesa museo e in questa funzione si svolgono varie attività culturali.
L'interno è per lo più del XVIII secolo. Presenta diversi dettagli eccezionali come un'asta, effetti trompe l'oeil, una maestosa porta processionale, un fonte battesimale romano e un Santo Pozzo. Inoltre, la chiesa ha anche una notevole struttura del tetto.
