Il versante della valle NE del Molenbeek è completamente diverso da quello di fronte. In questo caso i geomorfologi parlano di una valle asimmetrica. E sono sempre interessati a queste valli asimmetriche perché di solito sono causate da una differenza nell'erosione. E questa differenza ha spesso (ma non sempre!) una causa litologica (un altro tipo di sottosuolo). Il versante della valle NE è costruito più in alto dall'estensione del centro abitato di Sint-Laureins-Berchem.
