Essendo l'unica birreria rimasta, De Koninck è fortemente legata alla città. La birreria De Koninck è stata fondata nel 1833 al confine tra Anversa e Berchem. Dal agosto 2010 la birreria fa parte del gruppo di birrerie attorno a Duvel Moortgat. La conoscenza, l'expertise e la passione per la produzione di birra di due birrerie familiari belghe sono state unite.
De Koninck è ancora prodotta secondo la ricetta originale, con i migliori ingredienti e nelle condizioni ideali, e questo nel centro di Anversa.
