L'area naturale di Eggertingen si estende su 3 valli fluviali. Qui sei vicino al Mombeek. Poco dopo il castello, un altro affluente, il Beekbeemdenbeek, sfocia nel Mombeek.
Proseguendo lungo le rive del fiume, nella valle del Mombeek, si arriva a 'Den Krommen Arm'. Qui il Lerebeek sfocia nel Mombeek. La tua passeggiata non seguirà più il Mombeek, ma il Lerebeek.
Il Lerebeek nasce a Riksingen (Tongeren). Il Mombeek ha la sua sorgente un po' più a sud a Widooie (Tongeren). Entrambi i corsi d'acqua e i loro affluenti appartengono alla conca del Demer e alla fine sfociano nell'Escaut. Nelle valli di questi tre fiumi, Limburgs Landschap vzw gestisce attualmente oltre 55 ha di natura.
