In un ex sito industriale, nel 1995 è stato inaugurato un nuovo complesso commerciale. Dal materiale di recupero è stata realizzata la monumentale scultura del Ros Beiaard. Il cavallo saltante, con i quattro Heemskinderen sulla schiena, è stato realizzato in maniera modernamente stilizzata e svelato come un ‘regalo per la popolazione di Dendermonde’.

La scultura del Ros Beiaard, lunga dodici metri e alta sette metri, è stata progettata dall'architetto d'interni Klaar Teurrekens e dall'architetto Fernand Lancksweerd. Il telaio è stato assemblato sotto la direzione di Alfons De Maeseneir utilizzando materiale di recupero proveniente dall'ormai chiusa azienda Trefil-Arbed. L'intero lavoro è stato rivestito in lamiera d'acciaio.

Il montaggio e la forma sono stati portati a termine con successo da due dipendenti della Boelwerf: il saldatore Hugo Swenne e il montatore Marc Van Poeck. La scultura pesa due tonnellate.
