Ospedale in stile art déco progettato dall'architetto Alfried Defever nel dicembre 1927, costruito dopo aver ottenuto il permesso di costruzione nel giugno 1928. Il committente era la Société Coopérative Hôpitaux & Cliniques. Il nome Clinica Centenario si riferisce al centenario dell'indipendenza belga nel 1930, l'anno in cui l'ospedale è stato inaugurato.
