Il pittoresco villaggio si trova sulla linea inferiore della provincia di Liegi, sulla riva destra dell'Ourthe, al confine con la provincia del Lussemburgo. Prima della fusione nel 1977, Sy era un comune indipendente. L'area qui è chiamata la Piccola Svizzera Belga. Sy ci offre un'infrastruttura turistica ospitale, rocce per arrampicata, escursioni segnalate e le rovine del castello di Logne. Sy è stata utilizzata più volte come motivo dal pittore di Liegi Richard Heintz, che qui visse e morì nel 1929.
