Questo museo racconta la storia di Albert Thys. Nacque a Dalhem nel 1849. Attaché della casa militare del re Leopoldo II, divenne aiutante dell'Associazione Africana Internazionale. A partire dal 1885, aveva in programma di costruire una ferrovia in Congo per collegare la costa occidentale con Leopoli, e successivamente diventerà supervisore dei lavori di costruzione. Nel 1899, Thys fonda la Banque d'Outremer per incoraggiare l'insediamento di aziende all'estero, soprattutto in Africa. Dalhem e Thysville/Mbanza-Nungu sono partner dal 2005.
