La Markt da un'altra angolazione. A sinistra il municipio e il “Katholieke Kring”. A destra, come il più evidente, la 'Volkshuis' e la casa Schotte. Quest'ultima è stata demolita nel 2009 e sostituita da un nuovo edificio. Schotte era già fabbricante di biciclette prima della prima guerra mondiale e ha inventato, tra l'altro, il cuscinetto a sfera. Aveva anche la sua propria squadra di ciclismo.
Determinante è qui l'insolita abitazione a sinistra. Il blocco è stato costruito intorno al 1900 da Van Wambeke. Al pianterreno teneva aperto un negozio di scarpe, abitava al primo e al secondo piano e il ‘vetro’ terzo piano era il suo studio fotografico. La configurazione dell'edificio è ancora facilmente riconoscibile.
