La foresta di Herkenrode è un'area naturale situata tra i luoghi di Stevoort e Kermt, nel comune belga di Hasselt.
Questa foresta era di proprietà dell'Abbazia di Herkenrode ed era conosciuta con il nome di Grotenbos. Qui l'abbazia faceva pascolare il suo bestiame. La foresta si estendeva su circa 180 ha, ma fu espropriata durante il periodo francese. Da allora si è parlato di Foreste Imperiali. Dal 1815 diventò: Foreste Reali. Infine, la foresta fu acquistata da Adolf e Ulysse Claes. Nel 1857 Louis Claes, fratello di Adolf e Ulysse, ereditò la foresta.
