Ti trovi qui presso le ampie pozzanghere delle Hamputten, una zona del riserva naturale Groot Molsbroek. Questa riserva è gestita dall'associazione naturalistica vzw Durme. Durante i lunghi periodi di gelo, l'acqua aperta e profonda delle Hamputten rimane a lungo non ghiacciata. Perciò è il luogo ideale per svernare di molte specie di uccelli acquatici e anatre subacquee, tra cui il maschio di anatra codone. Anche le sponde riccamente coperte di canneto e salice hanno un alto valore naturale durante tutto l'anno (ma soprattutto durante la stagione della nidificazione).
