Il mulino di Lokeren si trovava nel luogo tra Merodelei, Spoorbaan e Kadasterstraat. Poiché di solito rendeva di più durante gli affitti, era forse il mulino più importante di Turnhout. Già prima del 1403 qui c'era un mulino a palo per macinare il grano. Nel 1544-1545 il mulino fu rinnovato.
Nel 1780 il mulino a palo fu abbattuto e sostituito nello stesso luogo da un mulino in pietra a torre.
Nel 1789 fu testimone della battaglia di Turnhout tra i Patrioti e gli austriaci.
Durante la cerimonia funebre del deputato Pieter De Nef il 15 novembre 1844, una massa di persone seguì questo evento dalla passerella. Questa passerella crollò sotto il peso e molte persone trovarono la morte.
Nel 1927 il mulino fu abbattuto.
