Il bosco vicino a Hof ter Hulst è già segnato come bosco nella mappa di Ferraris. L'area boschiva fa parte della Rete Ecologica Fiamminga ed è protetta a livello europeo come parte della direttiva habitat Natura 2000 'Foreste del sud-est della regione del Limo'.
