Benché il mulino sia stato magnificamente restaurato, non si può quasi vedere nulla dell'edificio dal lato della strada a causa dell'alta siepe. E la ruota sul retro è nascosta da un cespuglio in crescita e un tappeto di rovi. È un peccato.
Durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale, qui furono alloggiati soldati belgi. Durante l'attacco tedesco, il fienile viene distrutto da un proiettile, ma il mulino è risparmiato. Nel 1923, Emile De Ryck demolirà l'edificio distrutto e costruirà un nuovo fienile, delle stalle e un forno, in parte con materiali di recupero. L'anno 1923 è inciso su un grès ferruginoso murato. De Ryck sostituirà anche l'interno verticale e rotante con l'attuale ingranaggio di trazione in ferro battuto, proveniente da un mulino demolito a Orp-le-Grand.
