Il vecchio 'Hooyvettersvoetweg 'Chemin 59', 'Sentier d'Eppeghem à Weerde' passa sotto la prima linea ferroviaria del Belgio, che collegava Bruxelles a Malines. Il 5 maggio 1835, per la prima volta, tre locomotive lasciarono Bruxelles dirette a Malines sul continente europeo. Le locomotive: 'Olifant', 'Stephenson' e 'De Pijl'.
Il 'Hooyvettersvoetweg' inizia ufficialmente, ma non è più praticabile, a Eppegem, attraversa lo Zenne e prosegue attraverso un piccolo tunnel, che ora è anche inaccessibile sotto la ferrovia. Oggi segui il Hooyvettersvoetweg da Huidevettersstraat e prosegui sotto il tunnel ferroviario di pietra, che per fortuna è ancora accessibile. Una volta arrivato sulla riva dello Zenne, segui lo Zenne fino al mulino di Weerde. Questo tracciato originariamente seguiva un percorso completamente diverso, ma oggigiorno puoi seguire i meandri dello Zenne, il che non è affatto male.
