La Cardinaale Cardijnlaan sarà realizzata come La strada del futuro, un progetto esemplare per la nostra città. Oltre alla costruzione di un sistema fognario separato, anche l'aspetto della strada cambierà radicalmente, con bacini d'acqua, ampi fossati e molto verde. La parte tra la Pater Segersstraat e la Schongaustraat diventerà un'area residenziale con traffico motorizzato in una sola direzione. Nella zona erbosa verranno previste aree giochi e di sosta, e alcuni incroci saranno allestiti come piccole piazze. Su una passerella in cemento di quattro metri di larghezza, che serpeggia attraverso il parco verde, saranno i pedoni e i ciclisti a determinare la velocità.
Prosegui a destra lungo la Abingdonstraat fino alla Casa del Benessere
