All'angolo tra Gaullelaan e Leopoldlaan si trova la scuola municipale Jean Noté , ex scuola elementare e scuola del custode, costruita dal comune di Tournai nel 1878 in stile rinascimentale fiammingo.
Come di consueto, il complesso è costruito attorno a campi da gioco circondati da mura e ad aule alle quali si accede attraverso due diversi ingressi monumentali ; uno per i ragazzi in Avenue de Gaulle e un altro per le ragazze in Leopoldlaan. Un terzo ingresso consente l'accesso alla scuola del custode.
La costruzione della scuola richiese molti sforzi perché si riteneva che questo palazzo scolastico fosse troppo prestigioso per un bambino della "famiglia media".
Nel 1914 la scuola distrutta fu ricostruita in modo identico.
