La scultura di Luc De Man lungo la diga della Schelda fa parte della sua famosa serie internazionale chiamata "Cubes" .
A differenza delle sue strutture metalliche, questo blocco di pietra invita quasi a toccarlo. Lo spazio vuoto sembra offrire una sorta di sicurezza all'interno delle linee pulite del cubo.
Luc De Man gioca spesso con i concetti di "vuoto" e "massa" nelle sue opere. Ritagliando una porzione del cubo (un quarto di sfera), rivela l'interno del materiale. Lo svuotamento suggerisce che qualcosa manca, ma allo stesso tempo crea un nuovo spazio.
Si tratta di una scultura bella e tattile che si adatta all'architettura in pietra della Red Hill molto meglio di una struttura in metallo.
