Questa escursione offre uno sguardo promettente sulle tracce del libro di Mark Twain "Climbing the Riffelberg". Quattro sentieri escursionistici conducono dal Riffelberg al Rotenboden e al Gornergrat. Il sentiero più bello e più lungo conduce verso ovest a Dristelen, da dove il sentiero continua fino a Furi e al Giardino dei ghiacciai. La vista mozzafiato del ghiacciaio Gorner che si restringe rimarrà nella vostra memoria per molti anni a venire. Il percorso prosegue verso est attraverso il torrente glaciale e ai piedi del Riffelhorn e dei due laghi incontaminati del Riffel.
