La Valle degli Ocra inizia a Oker, una piccola città industriale a est di Goslar, e si estende oltre Romkerhall fino al serbatoio degli Ocra. La diga lunga 260 m è stata costruita negli anni '50 per la prevenzione delle inondazioni e la produzione di energia. Unterschulenberg e Mittelschulenberg sono poi scomparsi per sempre sotto la superficie dell'acqua. La leggenda vuole che a volte si possa scorgere il campanile di una chiesa nel serbatoio, che si possa sentire il suono delle campane... Schulenberg è stata completamente ricostruita.
