Das Ocker-Tal beginnt in Oker, einer kleinen Industriestadt östlich von Goslar, und führt vorbei an Romkerhall zum Ocker-Stausee. Der 260 m lange Damm wurde in den 1950er Jahren zum Hochwasserschutz und zur Energieerzeugung gebaut. Unterschulenberg und Mittelschulenberg verschwanden dann für immer unter der Wasseroberfläche. Der Legende nach kann man manchmal einen Kirchturm im Stausee ausmachen, den Klang von Glocken hören... Schulenberg selbst wurde komplett neu aufgebaut.
