Süplingen si trova a circa cinque chilometri a ovest del centro città di Haldensleben, nella catena montuosa di Flechtinger. A Süplingen appartiene anche la frazione di Bodendorf.
Durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, la Gestapo di Magdeburgo istituì una cosiddetta "casa di rieducazione al lavoro" nella cava per 100 prigionieri, che dovettero lavorare in condizioni estremamente dure nella cava dell'azienda Frömling & Frasch, ma anche in comandi esterni nell'impianto di segagione di Irxleben e nell'agricoltura. Almeno 20 persone persero la vita in questo frangente.
