Breidenbach è un comune nel lato occidentale del distretto di Marburg-Biedenkopf, situato nella parte centrale dell'Assia. Il comune prende il nome dalla località più grande al centro del comune.
Il comune principale di Breidenbach si trova in un paesaggio di valle all'unione dei fiumi Diete e Perf, a 320 metri sopra il livello del mare. Il paese si estende lungo la dismessa ferrovia Scheldetal Wallau–Dillenburg e la strada federale 253, che collega il Breidenbacher Grund alla rete di trasporti supranazionale attraverso l'uscita autostradale di Dillenburg sulla linea Sauerland.
