Auringen si trova al confine nord-orientale della città di Wiesbaden. Il nucleo del paese, di forma ovale, si eleva, circondato da campi, su una collina che si trova tra l'Aubach e il Wickerbach, dove ai piedi di essa entrambi i corsi d'acqua si uniscono.
La parte più recente di Auringen, il quartiere Am Rotenberg, si estende a est dell'Aubach, lunga e stretta in direzione nord-sud lungo la strada statale L 3028, dal portale nord del tunnel del Schulwald della ferrovia ad alta velocità Colonia-Reno/Maiorca fino alla stazione Auringen-Medenbach della Ländchesbahn. Tra il nucleo del paese e il nuovo quartiere si trova nella valle dell'Aubach, per una lunghezza di 200 m, solo una piccola casa.
