Il quartiere residenziale di Barmen-Mitte a Wuppertal è uno dei sei quartieri del distretto di Barmen. È il centro storico di Gemarke della ex grande città autonoma di Barmen.
Il quartiere residenziale di 0,53 km² si trova a est del centro geografico di Wuppertal, in una posizione in pendenza su entrambi i lati del fiume Wupper. È delimitato a nord dalla tratta della dismessa ferrovia nord di Wuppertal, a ovest dalle strade Steinweg e Fischertal, a sud dalla linea ferroviaria Elberfeld-Dortmund e a est dalle strade Heidter Berg, Bachstraße e Westkotter Straße. In senso orario, Barmen-Mitte è circondato dai quartieri Sedansberg, Oberbarmen-Schwarzbach, Heckinghausen, Heidt, Kothen e Friedrich-Engels-Allee. Il fiume Wupper, con la funicolare di Wuppertal sopra di esso, attraversa il quartiere residenziale situato in pendenza e la strada federale 7, qui chiamata Höhne, corre parallela.
