Il castello di Horneburg è un ex sede nobiliare a Datteln. Qui fino al 1418 si trovava la sede dei signori di Oer.
La prima menzione documentale della Horneburg risale al 1220 nel Grande Registro delle Vogte del conte Federico di Isenberg-Altena. È annotato che al feudo di Richrode apparteneva Horneburch. In un contratto di pacificazione tra l'arcivescovo di Colonia Federico III di Saarwerden e il conte Engelberto IV di Mark del 29 ottobre 1384, la Horneburg è stata menzionata nel Vest Recklinghausen.
