Il Jachen è un fiume lungo circa 23 chilometri in Baviera e un affluente sinistro, ossia occidentale, dell'Isar. È il deflusso naturale del Walchensee presso Niedernach, dove è bloccato da una diga a favore della centrale idroelettrica di Walchensee dal 1924.
Fino agli anni '50, il Jachen è stato tradizionalmente utilizzato per il trasporto del legname tagliato intorno al Walchensee e nella Jachenau. Dopo la chiusura presso Niedernach, lo Stato bavarese si è impegnato a fornire annualmente acqua di supplemento per 60 giorni consecutivi tra la primavera e il 15 agosto per il trasporto del legname. In tutti questi decenni, la Jachenau non ha mai usufruito di questo diritto, poiché ora tutto il legname viene trasportato via camion dalla valle.
