El Jachen es un río de aproximadamente 23 kilómetros de longitud en Baviera y un afluente izquierdo o occidental del Isar. Es el efluente natural del Walchensee en Niedernach, que desde 1924 ha sido bloqueado por una compuerta en favor de la central hidroeléctrica de Walchensee.
Hasta la década de 1950, históricamente se utilizaba el Jachen para el traslado de la madera cortada alrededor del Walchensee y en la Jachenau. Tras el bloqueo en Niedernach, el Estado bávaro se comprometió a proporcionar agua de subsidio durante 60 días consecutivos entre la primavera y el 15 de agosto para el transporte de las cantidades de madera. En las últimas décadas, la Jachenau no ha hecho uso de este derecho, ya que ahora toda la madera se transporta en camión desde el valle.
