Il monastero e il ginnasio Maria Regina si trovano vicino ad Altenhundem lungo la strada provinciale 715, che porta da Altenhundem a Bilstein. Situato su un poggio soleggiato poco prima dell'incrocio per Hohen Bracht, il luminoso complesso edilizio con il crocifisso sulla torre è visibile da lontano.
Il monastero con ginnasio annesso era un'istituzione della provincia tedesca dell'Ordine dei Missionari della Sacra Famiglia. La sua storia iniziò nel 1920 nel castello di Adolfsburg a Oberhundem con la fondazione della prima scuola missionaria. Questa fu successivamente trasferita ad Altenhundem e nel 1962 fu chiusa nell'ambito di un concetto scolastico modificato.
