La torre dell'acqua di Bocholt è stata messa in funzione nel 1913 e ha servito fino all'ottobre 2004 come serbatoio d'acqua potabile per l'approvvigionamento idrico della città di Bocholt. Il proprietario è la BEW, una filiale delle aziende comunali di Bocholt. Il edificio è stato progettato dall'architetto Alfred Hensen e dal 1984 è sotto tutela storica. Intorno al cambio di millennio è stato ristrutturato due volte e oggi è utilizzato come aula dalla scuola secondaria Albert-Schweitzer e come sala eventi dal collegio professionale presso la torre dell'acqua.
