Il Lichtenberg-Gymnasium di Cuxhaven è un liceo ad indirizzo generale a Cuxhaven con 538 studenti. La scuola è stata denominata nel 1986 in onore di Georg Christoph Lichtenberg, il primo professore di fisica sperimentale in Germania e fondatore dell'aforisma di lingua tedesca.
Nel 1817, la "Scuola delle ragazze di Ritzebüttel" fu fondata dal funzionario di Cuxhaven Amandus Abendroth. La sede era la casa Nachtigall, in Am Vorwerk 1, dove la scuola si trovava fino al 1898. Nel 1849 dei cittadini di Cuxhaven fondarono la propria "Scuola per ragazze di Cuxhaven". Questa rimase indipendente fino al 1881, quando fu integrata nella scuola comunale di Cuxhaven, guidata dal rettore Hahn, insieme alla scuola delle ragazze di Ritzebüttel.
