La cava Weiner Esch è un'ex cava situata a sud della città di Ochtrup, nel distretto di Steinfurt, nel Nord Reno-Westfalia. È un sito paleontologico tutelato e registrato a causa dei suoi reperti fossili.
Il calcare qui esposto è descritto come sabbioso e a strati, ed è di colore giallo-bruno. In passato, questo affioramento ha dato il nome alle formazioni Weiner, che oggi sono considerate parte della formazione Burgsteinfurt. I sedimenti si sono formati 84 milioni di anni fa nel Cretaceo superiore da un mare piuttosto poco profondo e raggiungono qui uno spessore di 8,5 m. Una parte di essi è mescolata a ghiaia. Tra i fossili più comuni si trovano belemniti e molluschi, ma ciò che rende speciale la cava Weiner Esch è la notevole presenza di denti di squalo e razza. Il sito è stato oggetto di studio da parte degli scienziati del Ruhrmuseum di Essen da tempo.
