Il 3 agosto 2000 è stata posata la pietra miliare e il 13 settembre è stata celebrata la festa di inaugurazione; l'apertura della hall è avvenuta il 7 gennaio 2001.
Iniziatore è stato Marc Girardelli, quattro volte campione del mondo di sci e cinque volte vincitore della coppa del mondo di sci. La hall offre posti di lavoro per circa 100 dipendenti. Il volume degli investimenti della società di gestione che opera come GmbH & Co. KG ammontava a 50 milioni di euro.
