Den 3. august 2000 blev grundstenen lagt, og den 13. september blev der fejret rejsegilde; hallen blev indviet den 7. januar 2001.
Initiativtageren var Marc Girardelli, fire gange verdensmester i ski og fem gange vinder af den samlede verdenscup. Hallen tilbyder arbejdspladser til ca. 100 medarbejdere. Investeringsvolumenet for driftsselskabet, der er registreret som GmbH & Co. KG, var 50 millioner euro.
