Il Heidesee è un'area naturale protetta di 5,2 ettari situata a sud-est di Coesfeld nel Nord Reno-Westfalia. Il punto centrale dell'area è un lago di torba pianeggiante con lo stesso nome, circondato da boschi alluvionali e paesaggi di brughiera aperta. L'origine del bacino idrico risale all'ultima era glaciale. Si sospetta che la depressione del Heidesee sia una copertura di sabbia aerodinamica spazzata via.
