Il castello di Hengebach si trova a Heimbach, una città nella Nordeifel, sopra il Rur nel circondario di Düren, Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia.
Il castello collinare è una struttura ovale a forma di anello costruita su una cresta montuosa alta 216 m sul livello del mare, risalente ai secoli XII-XIV. Il nucleo della struttura è costituito dalla corte occidentale del XII-XIII secolo con la combinazione tra mastio e palazzo. L'ampliamento del XIV secolo comprende la parte orientale del complesso del castello. Questo include il cortile del castello, il giardino e il recinto. Anche gli edifici residenziali costruiti sul versante sud sopra il Rurtal, adattati anche per scopi difensivi, risalgono a questa fase di costruzione.
