Il mulino dei monaci è uno dei mulini ad acqua più antichi della Brandenburg. Si trova nel quartiere Schildow-Mönchmühle nel comune di Mühlenbecker Land. La ruota idraulica è parte dello stemma del comune.
Intorno all'anno 1230, i monaci cistercensi fondarono il mulino dei monaci. Inizialmente fu costruita una diga lunga circa 100 m e larga 20 m. Furono spostati circa 15.000 m3 di terra per ottenere infine un'altezza della cascata di 4 m e sufficiente potenza idraulica per un'attività di macinazione costante. Questo era un risultato straordinario per l'epoca.
