La chiusa di Bären è una piccola chiusa sul fiume Issel e si trova nel territorio del quartiere di Lackhausen a Wesel.
La chiusa di Bären si trova al confine orientale dell'area urbana di Wesel, molto vicina ai confini della città con Hamminkeln e Hünxe. Le località più vicine sono Lackhausen e Obrighoven. L'impianto si trova tra le strade Wurmflakstraße e An der Issel, con quest'ultima che termina a meno di un chilometro a nord-ovest della strada federale 70. L'Issel proviene da nord-est verso la chiusa di Bären e lì vira quasi a un angolo di 90° per continuare a fluire in direzione nord-ovest. Provenendo da est, il fossato di drenaggio della Drevenacker Landwehr si immette nell'Issel in questo punto.
