De Bärenschleuse is een kleine sluis aan de Issel en ligt op het grondgebied van de Weselse wijk Lackhausen.
De Bärenschleuse ligt aan de oostelijke rand van het stadsgebied van Wesel, dicht bij de stadsgrenzen van Hamminkeln en Hünxe. De dichtstbijzijnde dorpen zijn Lackhausen en Obrighoven. De inrichting ligt tussen de straten Wurmflakstraat en Aan de Issel, waarvan de laatstgenoemde bijna een kilometer ten noordwesten eindigt bij de rijksweg 70. De Issel komt uit noordoostelijke richting naar de Bärenschleuse en buigt daar bijna onder een hoek van 90° af om in noordwestelijke richting verder te stromen. Vanuit het oosten mondt de afwateringsgracht van de Drevenacker Landwehr op deze plek in de Issel uit.
