Il castello di Münstereifel è la rovina di un castello regionale e si trova in alto sopra il centro termale di Bad Münstereifel, nel circondario di Euskirchen, su un ripido pendio che scende verso l'Erft.
Il castello in collina fu fondato in gran parte nel XIII secolo sotto Walram von Bergheim e completato nel XIV secolo da Gottfried von Bergheim. Gottfried ricevette i feudi di Bergheim e Münstereifel. Egli è sepolto in una tomba monumentale nella chiesa del capitolo. Successivamente nominarono funzionari come amministratori. Dagli anni 1559/60 ci sono fatture per lavori di costruzione alle finestre. Questi lavori furono sostenuti dal maestro d'opera ducale Alessandro Pasqualini con il suo consiglio.
