Il Georgenfelder Hochmoor è un'area paludosa situata nei Monti Metalliferi, vicino a Zinnwald-Georgenfeld. Fa parte di un complesso di paludi più grande, che si trova a sud, soprattutto oltre il confine statale nella Repubblica Ceca e che è storicamente conosciuto come "Il Lago". Il Georgenfelder Hochmoor è una delle riserve naturali più antiche della Sassonia.
Zinnwald-Georgenfeld, situato immediatamente al confine tra Germania e Repubblica Ceca, si trova a circa 45 chilometri a sud di Dresda e a quattro chilometri a sud di Altenberg. L'insediamento sparso, che si trova sulla cresta dell'Osterzgebirge a un'altitudine di 780-880 m s.l.m., è il paese più alto dei Monti Metalliferi orientali. Il Georgenfelder Hochmoor è una parte di questa comunità.
