La cima dell'Hordtberg è facilmente riconoscibile grazie a due tralicci di trasmissione. Entrambi gli ingressi alla cima sono abbastanza tranquilli in termini di traffico. Il lato occidentale si snoda attraverso una foresta, mentre il lato orientale è più aperto. Dalla vetta si gode di una vista meravigliosa sulla regione della Ruhr e sull'Hattingen Hügelland (Elfringhauser Schweiz).
