Il cimitero boschivo tra Wanheimerort e Buchholz è, con 67 ettari, il cimitero più grande di Duisburg. È stato fondato all'inizio degli anni '20 secondo i piani dell'architetto di Duisburg Herman Bräuhäuser. In qualità di cimitero municipale delle aziende municipali di Duisburg, è destinato a diverse nazioni e fedi religiose. Oltre alle tombe comuni e a scelta, nel cimitero si trovano anche campi di sepoltura della comunità ebraica, greco-ortodossa e musulmana. A questi si aggiungono numerosi luoghi di commemorazione per urne, che possono essere sepolte alternativamente in modo classico o come sepolture senza manutenzione sotto gli alberi, nel prato o, dal 2011, nel Memoriam Garden.
